Kate Spade (born Katherine Noel Brosnahan) and her husband Andy Spade (brother of actor/comic David Spade) are the co-founders of the New York based Kate Spade. Launched in 1993, the Kate Spade line was based around simple, boxy and aesthetically pleasing handbags.
One of the most popular bags from the line was the Sam bag. The Sam bag was made from nylon and lined with cotton twill. It was a very simple boxy tote with an inside flap closure and two thin shoulder straps. The modern tote was very popular but also highly counterfeited because of its simple design.
In recent years, the Kate Spade Stevie bag has grown in popularity. This handbag comes in a wide range of fabrics and colors. The Westbury Stevie comes in buttery soft cowhide leather in fabulous shades such as the purple pictured here. The Kate Spade Westbury Stevie is priced at $365. Visit the Kate Spade website for more details and to purchase this gorgeous leather handbag.
